Abstract

Information technology in the vehicle is clearly becoming a key field of differentiation between car makers and models. Yet the growing importance and value of IT applications is not only beneficial to vehicle manufacturers, system suppliers and drivers, it also begins to reveal an underlying clash between the typical product life cycle of a car versus that of IT products. So what will the answer be if a built-in IT system needs to be up-dated or expanded? Top Level Architecture (TLA), says Siemens VDO.
