Abstract
The undesired long programming times of electronic control units (ECUs) are limited by the production cycle times. Frequently, the CAN bus with KWP on CAN or UDS on CAN is used for programming. Through the limited bandwidth the transmission of the data is the bottleneck in terms of programming time. In order to reduce these times during the production process as well as in the development phase, the usage of data compression is proposed by ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Vector Informatik GmbH.
