Abstract

Driving at night is inherently dangerous due to low light levels. Vision-based headlamp optimization systems help to increase visibility by using an imager and image processing algorithms to maximize forward illumination according to surrounding traffic conditions. Gentex Corporation discusses current and future headlamp optimization functionality and the universal need for simple yet effective system solutions.
