Integration of FlexRay-based control units in existing test benches

Abstract

Today, measuring and control technology in vehicle test benches is connected to the control units via CAN interfaces. With the increasing use of FlexRay, however, FlexRay based control units need to be integrated in test benches as well. This paper presents a universal concept which BMW Group has developed and implemented using the Ixxat hardware and software platform. The concept safeguards investment in many test benches by enabling existing technology for FlexRay testing.
