An Approach to tool-based design of electrics/electronics architectures

Abstract

Increasing functionality and complexity of future vehicle electric/electronic architectures require efficient methods and suitable tool support even in the earliest development stages, when fundamental decisions about the E/E architecture are made. At Mercedes-Benz, a comprehensive tool- based development approach for design, documentation and evaluation of E/E architectures has been implemented during the past two years. This article is a slightly edited version of a paper that has been presented at the international VDI conference “Electronic Systems for Vehicles” 2007 in Baden-Baden.
