Abstract

For several years the use of higher system voltages has been a topic in the automotive industry. Whether for hybrid or conventional vehicles, safeguards are required which protect both the vehicle and the environment against the dangers of high DC-voltages. AFL — Alcoa's competence centre for vehicle electrics/electronics — have developed an automotive electrical system designed to meet all safety requirements.
