Abstract

An essential activity during testing is the specification of test cases. The Classification Tree Method determines a minimal set of relevant test cases, starting with the functional specification of the test object, and visualizes testing ideas. The method was developed in the software research laboratory of DaimlerChrysler in Berlin, and is mainly used in the automotive industry. This article by Hitex Development Tools GmbH, Karls ruhe, Germany, describes the method by means of the example “ice warning“.
