Abstract
Verifying and validating software systems embedded in a technical environment (embedded software) often takes up as much as 50 % of overall development expenditure. For this reason, IAV GmbH has developed a process in the SiLEST project for the early, automatic, repeatable, retraceable and cost-effective testing of engine control-unit algorithms. This process is presented below using the example of controlling a two-stage exhaust-gas turbocharger for a diesel engine.
