Abstract

For MAN safety is a topic that enjoys high priority. Beside numerous passive safety measures, which are continually integrated in the current truck models, in the meantime driver assistance systems became also a major factor in the safety concept. An exemplary analysis of the effectiveness of ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and LGS (Lane Guard System — this warns the driver if he inadvertently strays from his lane) shows their potential for preventing accidents.
