Abstract

The increasing complexity of engines and engine control units, the fact that legal emission standards are becoming stricter, and the desire for cost savings are making the use of computer-aided systems in engine development mandatory. Kratzer Automation AG has developed a software tool, PAoptimizer, for model-based engine map optimisation and has successfully tested it at the premises of a pilot customer, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, in Nuremberg. This report provides an overview of PAoptimizer and its implementation with the help of an example.
