Abstract
The integration of numerical calculation methods is gaining importance in the layout process of modern high-speed diesel engines (HSDI). Higher demands are being made on the quality of the simulation results, especially with regard to the thermal structure analysis. This enforces the development of improved methods and simulation tools. In this process, heat transfer is of significant importance as the central issue.
