Abstract
Boysen helped to develop a modular exhaust aftertreatment system for the six-cylinder inline spark-ignition engines from BMW. The assembly comprises innovative tubular manifolds and close-coupled catalytic converters. The flexible design allows the manifold/catalytic converter unit to be easily adapted to the installation situation in different vehicle series. An extensive common parts strategy enabled considerable cost savings to be achieved.
