Zusammenfassung

Der Ölverbrauch eines Motors wird im Wesentlichen von der „Durchlässigkeit“ zwischen Zylinderlaufbahn und den Kolbenringen bestimmt. Dabei hat die Oberflächenqualität der Zylinderlaufbahn großen Einfluss. Mit der Diamant-Fluidstrahl-Glätthonung hat Volkswagen ein Verfahren entwickelt, das wesentliche Vorteile hinsichtlich Ölverbrauch sowie beim Kolbenring- und Laufbuchsenverschleiß bietet. Die Marke Volkswagen hat inzwischen die Laufbuchsenbearbeitung sämtlicher Dieselmotoren auf das neue Diamant-FG-Verfahren umgestellt.
