Abstract

With the friction power test bench for complete engines, Mahle has created a development tool that makes it possible to perform parameter tests on all engine components that relate to friction power, in motored externally charged operation as well as in fired engine operation. Using DoE programs (design of experiments), friction power maps are created for each test variant. The appropriate ranking of the results allows optimisation with an engine specific approach.
