Abstract
Diesel engines for the European market should deliver impressive performance and fuel economy but also high levels of environmental performance, good noise and vibration suppression. With this in mind, Mazda developed a new diesel engine for the launch of the second-generation Mazda 6 with the aim of realising its product philosophy of sustainability combined with a sportive driving experience. The new MZR-CD 2.2 engine will be available for future models like the all-new Mazda 3 as well.
