Abstract

The picture of a 4WD sports car in full action shows only one extreme aspect of the wide application range of 4WD-driven vehicles. This paper, however, focuses on the characteristics applied in everyday use. It is a well-known fact that 4WD systems provide better traction. For that reason, this Magna Steyr-article mainly describes the aspects of cornering behavior on low friction values, and the fuel consumption.
