Abstract
Large covers in engine and transmission applications are commonly made of plastics or light metals. In addition to reducing weight and cost, there are increasing requirements for improved acoustic performance of these systems. Hybrid covers, a new development from SKF Sealing Solutions, uses plastics, elastomer and metal to provide improved acoustic behavior while ensuring secure sealing in hot oil environments.
