Abstract
Audi has completely redeveloped the V8 FSI engine for use in its new high-performance sports car. The high-revving concept — the maximum engine speed is 8,250 rpm — and dry-sump lubrication in particular have their origins in motor racing. Power transmission is via a six-speed manual gearbox, but an automated sequential-shift gearbox is also available.
