Abstract

To reach the Euro 5 limits, controlling the intake air temperature becomes increasingly important. Behr has developed a concept that allows increasing and decreasing the intake air temperature and therefore the combustion temperature. Amongst other advantages, this temperature management reduces the formation of NOX, HC and CO emißions, supports the conversion of pollutants by the aftertreatment and regeneration of the particle filter.
