Abstract

The aim of this study by Visteon and Fluent is to investigate the windscreen de-icing behaviour of a vehicle using the available CFD methods and to develop further techniques for the future in order to reduce the cost of development. A detailed full model of an existing vehicle containing the outer skin, the air conditioning unit, the windscreen and the cabin interior was produced using a tetrahedral mesh.
