The new Behr climatic wind tunnel

Abstract

A new climatic wind tunnel has been developed at the Behr GmbH & Co. Research & Development Centre, with the goal of reproducing as closely as possible actual vehicle dynamics and climatic conditions on the road. The special features of the wind tunnel are extremely good airflow properties, a wide range of adjustable climate conditions and excellent dynamics. In this new climatic wind tunnel, in contrast to conventional models, it is now possible to reproduce both constant test conditions and the rapid alterations that occur in road travel. The facility was constructed by Sverdrup Technology, Inc. in a period of just less than two years.
