Abstract
The purpose of this publication by BMW is to draw up a systematic procedure to determine the concept-defining fundamental dimensions of a vehicle “from inside to outside”. It will demonstrate the fundamental interdependence between certain dimensions required in order to make essential statements on the design of a vehicle. The main vehicle dimensions are derived from the anthropometrical as well as customer and engineering-specific parameters.
