Abstract

Within the framework of new vehicle developments, lightweight design will play a key role in achieving a sustainable reduction in CO2 emissions. Good approaches are offered by generally cost-effective lightweight design solutions for large-volume series production such as multi-material design. One of the keys for successfully advancing this trend towards efficient multi-material structures is joining technology.
