Summary

An isolated perfused rat lung system has been used to study the deposition of the tobacco smoke particulate material marker3H-dotriacontane (3H-DOT) in the lung following inhalation of mainstream smoke from standard flue cured cigarettes labelled with 1 3 mCi3H-DOT. At the end of smoke exposure frozen sections of the lung were processed for autoradiography. Radioactivity occurred throughout the lung but was concentrated within small bronchi.
