  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1971-1996)

Summary

The technical properties of the GAMMASPHERE array are reviewed. A list of physics topics that have been studied with GAMMASPHERE stand-alone or in combination with auxiliary devices is presented. A few highlights are discussed and they include: i) the observation of superdeformation in mass 60, ii) one-step links in the superdeformed bands in194Hg and iii) the cosmic-ray chronometer54Mn.
