On the thermodynamics of liquid junction potentials

  • Published:
Applied Scientific Research, Section A Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The formulae for electrochemical potentials given in the preceding paper are applied to the potential between two electrolytes (contact and diffusion potentials). It is shown that the potential is independent of the details of the mechanisms of conduction and diffusion. The results are compared with experimental data.
