Photo-elastic investigation of armoured models with an application to bending bars with cracks on the tensile side

Summary

The use of photo-elastic techniques is extended to the investigation of armoured models. After a description of the possible manufacturing methods of the models, an application is given by the investigation of the influence of cracks, often occurring at the tensile side of reinforced concrete bars.
