Summary
Models for nucleation along a dislocation are described. It is assumed that diffusion takes place via vacant lattice sites. It is shown that different mobilities and different sizes of the atoms in the alloy give rise to different possibilities of growth of the nuclei. Sometimes growth is very unlikely. Under certain circumstances formation of flat Guinier-Preston zones can be expected.
