Edgar F. Borgatta is professor and chairman of the sociology department of the University of Wisconsin. His recent books includeSocial Workers’ Perception of Clients andAn Experiment in Mental Patient Rehabilitation.

Herbert J. Klausmeier is professor of education at the University of Wisconsin and author of the recent book,Learning and Human Abilities. He has publishednumerous other articles and books on the identification of growth factors in children related to their success in school, learning efficiency in arithmetic, and creativity of gifted elementary and high school pupils.

Philip Lambert is professor and chairman of the department of educational psychology at the University of Wisconsin. His recent research is concerned with team teaching and the use of teaching machines in elementary and secondary schools. He is also principal of the Washington Laboratory School on the University of Wisconsin campus.
