Conclusion

The new Confederation of Independent States is in a period of great and historic change. Positive changes are well in hand. The isolation of their pedagogues has previously prevented an exchange of views between others engaged in comparative research. Now that the doors have opened, we must see that the dialogue is maintained and opportunities created for the exchange of ideas, as well as economic and technological assistance is given. Pre-school education in the current economic crisis, must surely be vulnerable — our support will be vital.

A comprehensive programme of visits was offered including one to a “computer kindergarten” where an international project, involved USA, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain & Finland. This computer complex, one of 200 in the new Confederation, operates the KID system. Built on a programme of mental and creative development, the use of computers is not allowed to limit other activity.

Other visits of a cultural nature, concluded a seminar, of which the organisers can feel very proud.
