Summary

p-Hydroxybenzaldehyde condenses with all the five amides casily, giving very good yields of the correspondingp-hydroxybenzylidene-amides, which resemble closely the products obtained from the condensation of salicylaldehyde (rather than those obtained fromm-hydroxybenzaldehyde).
