Cytokine profiles in the metaplasia-dysplasia-adenocarcinoma sequence in the oesophagus

Conclusions

Induction of NF-kB by cytokines such as IL-lβ and IL-8 may play an important role in Barrett’s tumourigenesis. Inhibition of this pathway could be an important target for drug therapies in the future.
