Abstract
Turbulent plasma fluctuations are considered to be responsible for the anomalous transport observed in tokamaks. Therefore, study of these fluctuations is an object of a special interest. Measurements of the density fluctuations are carried out routinely in the CASTOR periphery by a variety of Langmuir probes, see e.g. [1,2]. However, for a measurement deeper in the hot tokamak plasmas, contaccless methods must be used.
One of such methods is the microwave reflectometry. A reflectometric system working at a fixed frequency 35 GHz is used on the CASTOR tokamak [3]. In this contribution, we bring results of density fluctuations measurements through the most part of the CASTOR radius with exception of the outer region (where the density is too low for the wave reflection). It was shown that the level of the density fluctuations monotonously increases from the tokamak center towards the peripheral region.
