Abstract
The 2D evolution of a 2-species system is examined using the thermal lattice Boltzmann model (TLBM). The effect of velocity shear layers on sharp heat fronts are considered for a neutral-ion system in the case where both species are turbulent. The rate at which the species velocities and temperatures equilibrate no longer follow the Morse estimate.
