Aktueller Stand der Orbitachirurgie

Zusammenfassung

Einleitend wird die topographische Anatomie der Orbita unter Berücksichtigung ihrer Beziehungen zu den Nasennebenhöhlen und der Schädelbasis dargestellt. Es folgt die Besprechung von Klassifikation, Häufigkeit und Leitsymptomen der Orbitaerkrankungen. Die diagnostischen Verfahren werden anhand klinischer Beispiele unter besonderer Heraushebung der Wertigkeit bildgebender Verfahren aufgeführt. Sodann werden je nach Art der Erkrankung bzw. Lage und Größe einer orbitalen Raumforderung konservative und/oder chirurgische Therapieprinzipien unter dem Aspekt einer obligat interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit diskutiert.

Summary

The topographic anatomy of the orbit is presented with special reference to the relationship with the paranasal sinuses and the skull base. The classification, frequency, signs and symptoms of orbital diseases are outlined. The diagnostic procedures are discussed in the light of clinical entities, evaluating sensitivity and specifity of imaging techniques. According to the kind of disease respectively size and location of an orbital tumour, the appropriate conservative and/or surgical therapy is described, pointing out the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to orbital diseases.
