Summary
1.296 patients were measured with both the Non-Contact-Tonometer NCT 20 (NCT) and the Goldmann Applanation Tonometer (GAT). The results of the measurements gained from 868 eyes were statistically evaluated. There could be shown a significant difference between NCT and GAT. In 72.7% of the NCT-Measurements there was found a correlation to GAT-Measurements between +/− 2mm Hg. From the other eyes the IOP readings in 219 cases were overestimated and in 18 underestimated using NCT compared to GAT. To avoid false-negative results approximately 56% of the patients had to be rechequed by GAT.
