Summary

Musicians, playing high resistance wind instruments, experience a transient rise in IOP as a result of uveal engorgement. In the present case of a 68-year-old professional musician (trumpeter) suffering from glaucoma, the cumulative effect of long-term intermittent IOP elevation during high resistance wind instrument playing appeared to represent an additional risk factor resulting in further visual field deterioration.
