Influence of non-radiative electronic excitation energy transfer on luminescent properties of one-dimensional systems

Abstract

The influence of electronic excitation energy transfer by dipole — dipole interaction on concentrational changes of quantum yield and emission anisotropy in one-dimensional luminescent systems is considered. An expression for the photoluminescence quantum yield of donors vs acceptor concentration at arbitrary concentration ratio of donors and acceptors has been obtained. In the case of emission anisotropy an expression taking into account self-quenching as well as excitation energy remigration has been obtained. The expressions obtained forη/η 0 andr/r 0 have been compared with the analogous expressions obtained earlier for three- and two-dimensional systems. The effects of energy migration on concentrational changes ofη/η 0 andr/r 0 in systems of different dimensionality and different values of dimerisation constant are discussed.
