Abstract

Differential cross sections for the inealstic scattering of 14.1 MeV neutrons to the 2.24 MeV state of32B and the 0.845 MeV state of56Fe were measured and compared with coupled-channel calculations. They are in reasonable agreement. The deformation parametersβ 2 are quite similar to the electromagnetic values.
