Abstract

Orthoferrites are transparent magnetic materials characterized by a number of unique features (very high values of magneto-optical figure of merit and quality factor, extremely high domain wall velocities) promising their use for the developement of various innovative micotechnological devices with improved characteristics. A review of applications in electric current (magnetic field) meters, angle measuring devices, optical modulators, switches, shutters, and isolators will be presented.
