Abstract
Gamma ray spectra associated with the decay of109Pd and111mPd have been studied with Ge (Li) and Ge(Li)−NaI(Tl) spectrometers. Thirty six gamma rays including five new transitions are identified in the109Pb decay and placed in a level scheme involving two new excited states in109Ag at 697±0.9 and 811±1.0 keV beside twelve known states. Directional angular correlation measurements have also been carried out and the spins of states of energies greater than 415 keV have been determined together with related multipolarities and mixing ratios. For the111mPd decay, 91 gamma rays including 17 new transitions are observed. The deduced level scheme of111Ag is found to involved 25 excited states from which five levels at 1351±0.6, 1632±0.4, 1764±0.5, 2060±0.5 and 2167±0.5 keV are considered to be new. Previously reported states at 1781.6, 1933.9 and 1964.6 keV are not confirmed. Spin and parity assignments for the various observed levels are suggested.
