Abstract
The quasi-elastic diffraction character of inelastic two-prongπ − −p interactions was confirmed by investigating the distribution of the four-momentum transfert. From the similarity of thet distribution obtained for the secondaryπ − with thet distribution inπ − −p elastic scattering it was concluded that the incident pion undergoes quasi-elastic scattering and has a tendency to maintain its charge.
