Contact potential difference measurements on (010) surfaces of vanadium pentoxide

Abstract

Changes in contact potential difference (C. P. D.) between freshly cleaved (010) vanadium pentoxide surfaces and a platinum electrode were investigated using different ambients. Experiments show the logarithmic time dependence of C. P. D. during stabilization and also the important role of the presence of humidity.
