Transmitted phonon drag measurements in Ge

Abstract

The transmitted phonon drag effect in germanium (which is based on the pronounced phonon—electron interaction at low temperatures) is described. Its applications include:

  1. (a)

    evaluation of phonon-phonon scattering parameters;

  2. (b)

    investigation of phonon reflection at a free surface;

  3. (c)

    experimental results on the influence of a twin boundary on phonon propagation will be also presented.

Описывается эффект фононной тяги в германии, (который основывается на определенном фононно-электронном взаимодействии при низких температурах). В работе содержится: а) вывод параметров фонон-фононного рассеяния; б) исследование отражения фононов на свободной поверхности; в) сообщаются также экспериментальные результаты влияния двойной границы на распространение фононов.
