On the production of penetrating particles by non-ionising cosmic rays

Abstract

New measurements of the penetrating non-ionising component of cosmic rays are reported. The effect of anticoincidence counters shielding the arrangement from the sides is found to consist in a decrease of the background only. Experimental results found byRoy andChakravarti are discussed critically.

Описываются новые измерения, относящиеся к проникающему неинизирующему компоненту космических лучей. Действие счетчиков, включенных в антисовпадение и экранизирующих установку с боковых сторон, состоит только в том, что они уменьшают фон. Разбираются экспериментальные данные Роя и Чакраварти с критической точки зрения.
