Abstract

A study has been made of the effects of collisions with neutral particles on the stability of the plane interface separating two streaming superposed plasmas of uniform densities through porous medium. The instability criterion is found to be independent of the ermeability of the medium and the collisional effects with neutral particles. The criterion determining stability does not depend on permeability of the medium but depends on the density of neutral particles. The growth rates both increase or decrease with the increase in collisional frequency as well as with the increase in permeability of the medium.
