Abstract
It is shown that the anomalous triplet splitting observed in theC 3 Δ term of the TiO molecule can be interpreted in good agreement with experiment, in addition to the spin-orbit and spin-spin interaction, by taking the centrifugal distortion of the spin-orbit and spin-spin interaction simultaneously into account. The exact values of the coupling constantsA and the other correction constants are also given for theC 3 Δ term on the levelsv ′=0 andv ′=1.
