Free convection effects on MHD channel flow with variable viscosity

  • Published:
Acta Physica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae

Abstract

An analysis of the influence of buoyancy force and variable viscosity on the horizontal MHD channel flow has been carried out. Approximate solutions to 0(ε) for velocity and temperature are obtained by the method of iteration. Velocity and temperature profiles are shown on graph and numerical values of the skin-friction at lower and upper plates are entered in Tables. During the course of discussion, the effects of different parameters on the stability of flow at the plates, in case of both aiding (G>0) and opposing (G<0) flows have been brought out.
