Idealized freeze-out in relativistic fluid dynamical models

  • Published:
Acta Physica Hungarica New Series Heavy Ion Physics

Abstract

Freeze-out of particles across a three-dimensional space-time hypersurface is discussed. The calculation of final momentum distribution of emitted particles is described for space-like and time-like freeze-out surfaces, taking into account conservation laws across the freeze-out discontinuity. Generally the conservation laws lead to a change of temperature, baryon density and flow velocity at freeze-out.
