Radical ions as reactive intermediates in oxidation, substitution and electron transfer reactions

  • Published:
Reviews on Reactive Species in Chemical Reactions Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Typical reactions of radical cations and anions have been summarized, and specific examples of these general reaction types in oxidation, substitution, and electron transfer reactions have been presented. The mechanism, scope and synthetic utility of the numerous reactions now believed to proceedvia radical ion intermediates have been discussed.
